Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 cars have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.
The substance had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Officers then located many other marked vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Officials report preliminary tests suggest the substance was probably human blood.
"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; investigators are presently not cognizant of any physical harm in association with the event," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to solve the case" and have requested to the public for details.
A senior political figure commented the incident rendered him stunned and had to be solved promptly.
"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
