I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually happening.
